Jim Jarmusch is a filmmaker unconventional. Rueda films where we talk about small things, everyday conversations, it silences, boredom. It is a great admirer of American independent music and uses it as a soundtrack in his films and his musicians, son sus amigos y actúan en sus películas. A Jarmusch le gusta hablar de los inmigrantes en los EEUU y de cómo se alejan sus personajes en busca de una nueva vida.

En Dawn by law, rodada en blanco y negro, nos habla de tres personajes interpretados por sus amigos los músicos Laurie, Waits y un desconocido en esos momentos Roberto Begnini.  Están en una celda, conversan, juegan a cartas. Begnini tiene obsesión en mejorar el ingles, idioma que domina poco (imprescindible verla en VO). Y deciden fugarse. Si Jarmusch hubiera sido un director convencional, habríamos visto como planean su fuga, los momentos de tensión, pero eso hubiera sido otra film as we know many of the genre. Jarmusch is posed differently, not interested in the action, but as these three losers are known, come together and forge a friendship, from the everyday.
With leisurely pace, ellipsis in time, very good performances, great music, extraordinary light, witty dialogues.
