The night before the Fashion Show

Yesterday was organized by Oxfam Fashion Show after a year in London. A market of second hand clothing, some parts intervened, sewing materials, bags and handmade hats. A workshop Do It Yourself with machines sewing, beads and scraps of cloth to make repairs. And a final parade, with women of different sizes, ages and backgrounds.

The night before I had a hard time sleeping. This time it was not the concern for last minute details, or for dissemination in the media, nor for the success of the event, or for the results. The traditional concerns of my working life, temporarily suspended. The task assigned to me was simple, to help with the assembly of the stand of the Chelsea store and serve the public.

At the end of the day, struggling with my umbrella inverted for the second time on the way to the subway, had things more clear. I could not sleep because I was excited. also remembered that there were moments and exciting in the work I did for many years. Those times when you enjoy what you do for a living.

I know, I am reminded of Santa Barbara because it thunders.
