You do not see these things, tell a story with a good plot and well-chosen actors, that lately either. If not: "What a bastard, had cast me."
Let the slang, idioms or Dare, but the blow was summarized in a similar phrase. Then come the compliments to the (pride) pair of protagonists. A Newman-Redford tandem would repeat after "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" to the plot or the eyes of Newman. But "the blow" from "The Sting" is that unpredictable end. A proper conclusion of a book by Agatha Christie, Sherlock Holmes mystery. A large staging in a great movie. Possibly the best writing of the history of cinema. If my last choice for this # CineCT said that perhaps one of the biggest stories of cinema, referring to The Godfather, this time I'm pretty sure this is one of the best screenplays of all time. It has everything, a great atmosphere, a secondary stories start and finish, great dialogue, a superb band sound. And an end ... that end gentlemen.
Who has not brought a smile to hear the song The Enterteiner?. A Song made for rogues. For Redford and Newman. For the red smile, to Newman, is Newman. A song for a bad bad role Robert Shaw stars in a magnificent being ripped off. All this in small doses. Each in proportion.
tricks and scams 10%, 10% smart and funny dialogues, 10% of titititititi tititi tititi (read singing the title song), Newman and Redford 20%, 10% the smile of Redford and Newman's eyes, 50% the end. For a 110% final.
Then came the others. The kids Clooney on the Oceans series, The Trap, The Score, Take the Money and Run, (the latter only by the scene fake gun and rain is needed reference) and many more. Marked a before and after. Another way to deceive the public and what is more difficult to disorient and get it. As it was Hithcock, but rogues and thieves. A movie with the sole purpose of entertainment. Not meant to be transcendent, does not seek change your life. Wants you to spend some time entertaining and he succeeds.
A taste for the senses. A delightful revisionist. Discover a great experience. A final apotheosis. Of applause and people standing. Of popcorn on the floor and open mouth. A great final.
