Nothing like Sephora. The first interview
ad are a family looking for sellers, not daring to seller or sales, using euphemisms such as Business Developer. They promise high economic considerations and rapid career advancement. They target ambitious professionals. They do not describe, even in general terms, the work itself. It is very difficult to recognize, even if they are in English.
This was one of those ads for Marketing Services and I had to send my cv. Be flexible when you're starting out, is serious. Of course I was glad when they called me. The ambiguous content of the website of the company did not help me prepare for the interview but the questioning was brief and predictable. The office looked like a normal office, on the other.
got a call to return a full day of training. I asked about the functions that would be developed but, strategically, I responded. I only had two tracks: cosmetics and flat shoes. As can be optimistic in the worst case scenario, I recalled with enthusiasm the girls to demonstrate and give away samples of makeup at Sephora or department stores. I managed to gain confidence and forget myself.
My supervisor, dragging a suitcase, and I walked to Waterloo. Metro and bus to get to one of those shopping areas outside the cities, where the store entrances are arranged into a large parking lot.
Nothing like Sephora. We settled in front of a store newspapers and magazines. My supervisor set up a table and began filling bags with cosmetics and I was given my first task. Write three marketing concepts, ten essential qualities in a manager and all forms of advertising you get into the mall. Take a tour. When finished, come and discuss it. After the theory we turn to the most interesting. The work is moving from Monday to Saturday, with a suitcase, to different places and try to convince people to be going to buy cosmetics packs of an emerging brand and still unknown in all drugstores. No contract, no wages or travel expenses or food. The gain is 5 pounds for every pack sold.
had a right to repent and then return to London or go to the second phase of training in the afternoon, the attitudes and ways of approaching the public. Think about it because it is hard work then come and tell me.
Back home I was happy, as far as possible.'d Survived my first interview in English and knew that to get a job like I had to spend a little more time. So I kept looking and I left this experience.
